"One of my favorite scenes from BBC Sherlock is the part from The Hounds of Baskerville after Sherlock sees the "hound" and actually feels fear. It's as if he realizes he actually has feelings, no matter how hard he tries to hide them away and pretend they're nonexistent; realizes that not even Sherlock Holmes, the icy-machine who only cares about his job, can be Sherlock Holmes. He's very much human and he hates it.
I can relate."

It goes to show that no matter how strong, centred, experienced, mature, grounded and driven you are... there is always a point where you will be reminded that you're human. There will always be a point when something will pierce your defenses and make you crumble, revealing you to be as vulnerable as everyone else. Sherlock, a man of incredible perception and clarity, who oft dealt with grisly matters and the seedier side of humanity, found himself in this same situation. No matter what you learn in life, no matter how strong you become, you will always be human enough to stumble, and it can be a harrowing experience when life reduces you like that. The important part is that you keep moving onwards, and that you find a way to deal with it, when you are reminded of just how fallible and human you are. That hound didn't stop Sherlock, and so, while you may not be a legendary super-sleuth, you are still just as human as he, so in time, you will climb over your (current) obstacles, and be once again back on track, complete, unbroken, but maybe a little bruised.
The experience sucks ass, but you'll keep breathing, and you'll eventually find your way past this. ;)
