Even though this piece is one part of a whole set of drawings, I think it could stand on its own as a solitary work.

The big grin of the boy in the framed photo must augment the amount of heartache the girl has whenever she glances at it. Here she is, in emotional pain and distress, and there he is, forever with a huge grin stretching across his face, as if not only completely apathetic to her sorrow, but deriving perverse pleasure in it.
