Snake Eyes the donkey
Here's something I created in the zoo at Anthrocon. She's Snake Eyes, the gambling donkey. She brings gambling to Ponyville and she's very tricky. Can donkeys earn cutey marks? Perhaps they can if they are talented enough at something or perhaps it takes one of Zecora's potions to make it happen.

Does she have a brother named BlackJack? One with black fur or even just a black mane would make a neat double meaning sort of name.
I know little of the show but I don't see why they can't have cutie marks. They wouldn't want to be racist. I wonder if mules can get cutie marks as well. I have a half donkey half pony character. A little Pegasus boy with a red mane, tail and reddish fur (as you can tell, I like that colour for fur/hair). He likes donkeys too. Though, he's a bit OCD, so gambling would prolly be dangerous for him.
