Continuing my "Classic Roly-Polympics" cartoon series at the swimming venue, the next event is 'synchronized diving' - with a pair of very round raccoons, about to leave their respective diving boards in unison...
One of the inspirations for this gag was the Jacques Tati film comedy "Traffic" (1971). In one scene, a speeding motorist is pulled over by a pair of motorcycle cops, whose every movement mirrors each other's. And, as they approached the motorist's car, the cops hear a hissing noise, and turn back together, to see the rear tire of both motorcycles deflating!
Needless to say, these 'synchronized divers' are doomed to a similar fat... er, fate!
