The colors are off on this because the lighting in my room is horrible. That being said- this is the classic slime monster from the Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest series. This is the Dragon Warrior Monsters version of the slime. The coaster was a request from Daikun, it's a flowery background from the game.
I've never done a sprite with a background that wasn't solid- I think it's a pretty awesome idea actually. I missed doing coasters as well. They're so..square.
For anyone curious- these things make fantastic coasters. The very first sprite I ever made 2-3 years ago was a Horde coaster from World of Warcraft. It's still holding up today- and it gets nearly daily use. They're $8 each or $28 for 4 if you wanna get some made. :D
