This is my full-body portrait of Grub without a background (I'm still working on it).
The Drone is most definitely a scholar, its entire youth spent learning physics, chemistry, biology, as well as researching the newly discovered humans. Grub was actually the one who recommended no direct contact ever be made with the humans because of their already misplaced paranoia with alien abduction and invasion myths. Its research still yielded more information than anyone could have imagined, adding to the already blooming interest in the newly discovered species. In their new age of teleportation, transporting satellites across lightyears of space was simple, but the complexity of teleporation made local attempts difficult. It turns out that Grub actually was on the verge of perfecting the equations for teleportation between its studies on humans, but never got the opportunity to test its findings. Though the resistance has the resources to build a new device, they refuse to do so, seeing that if it were compromised, their entire existence would be threatened. To prevent it from falling into the Hierarchy's hands, they canceled all efforts to build an improved, multi-ranged teleporter. But, not all innovations were left to gather dust, especially when the engineers developed a new nanocomputer initially made for medicinal purposes. They refitted the designs so that the nanocomputers acted as cells, and when injected they would absorb the biological cell and improve efficiency over 1000%. All these nano-cells communicated with one another via quantum entanglement arrangements that also stored general information like genetic makeup, cellular processes, and status histories. In an emergency, these cells can even backup psychological information, so long as at least a handful of cells are still available. The quantum computational power of these cells were rivaled by no other, able to fit millions of logical processes with only two or three. When this innovation came out, Grub was almost immediately given injections of the nanocomputers in hopes that it could be the leader of their last effort of survival. Raising the dead to fight for the resistance.
Grub is the only member of "The Living Dead" special forces squad (for the resistance) to never actually have died. All the others were resurrected after either execution or being hunted down by the Hierarch Army during its persecution of the Drones. Because of this, Grub was alienated, and the others did not believe Grub had the right to enforce its moral code on them being, they claimed, the Drone did not understand their experiences. In reality, Grub's wisdom kept the group honest and aware of their actions, instead of becoming a reckless band of vengeful brutes.
Really, Grub is quite humble and selfless, caring more about those around itself than anything else. On top of this, Grub is rather shy and withdrawn, which is one of the reasons Ty became the new leader soon after Grub's short reign as commanding officer. This passive nature though makes Grub a dedicated friend, one that is soft spoken, kind, gentle, and wiser than any other. Above all, Grub has a heart burning with compassion, and has a capacity for forgiveness and understanding that is almost unmatched.
Because of this, Grub is probably my favorite character of the bunch if I had to choose. I love them all! But Grub has its heart in all the right places.

Thank you for the kinds words! And though I don't see myself as being that good, the compliments were appreciated more than you could imagine. I've been working so hard on this one, and I still have some ways to go (I'm working on the background), but I am so happy that you are so pleased with my work. It means so much!
