I havent told you how central these two characters are.
You already know a little about young Alexandre ( the juvenile tuxedo cat)
and Guillermo ( the Spaniard white lion).
Apparently this is the first time they meet.
Alexandre tried to pickpocket Guillermo and run away with his wallet. Guillermo was unable to catch the child due to his heavyset and aging build, but the police got the little boy first.
When Alexandre tried to talk his way out, Guillermo came just in time ( heaving and panting from the long walk), that Alexandre was his son and that he was trying to buy food for him because he was too sick to do it ( Not bad for a lion with limited French.)
The police bought it of course and Alexandre once again tried to run...after Guillermo grabbed him by the collar.
yada yada yada later
As punishment for the little thief, Guillermo decided to teach little Alexandre a lesson by making him sit here and draw the likeness of the Monsieur. But he could not leave until it looked exactly like him. ( Guillermo is a relentless critic.)
"So, "mon petit garcon", you like to use your hands for stealing, oui? Then I demand that you use them to draw me."
And soon after Alexandre learned.....not to steal from Monsieur Guillermo, ever again.
