Two weeks ago, my mom comes in talking about how she keeps hearing this meowing outside while she's picking blueberries. Four days later this cutie pops out of the bushes, meowing like crazy. He's so friendly and loving, wanting to rub up against everyone's legs, so much you almost trip on him! This would be so awesome if it weren't for the fact his tail is badly damaged. The first few days it was gross and black and about to rot off. My mother couldn't even look at it. It fell off finally, rotten, but now all that's left is a slim bit of flesh sticking to the bone underneath. The tail needs to be amputated badly, and we're not sure if we can afford it, or to take care of him after. I would never ask this normally, but if anyone could donate, it would be appreciated. Every donation will receive a piece of art, worth their donation amount. Every cent received will go towards making this cat healthy, and once that's done, be donated to the APL, an animal protective association known well in the area I'm in.
This is a picture of his tail, for those who aren't easily grossed out. http://i47.tinypic.com/2uy5b44.jpg
Please, even if you -can't- donate, spread the word?
EDIT: Please note me for any information!

BTW, cats who grow up feral are not friendly at all. Your kitty is probably a lost or abandoned cat. Implied in this are the possibility that your kitty has an ID chip that would identify the owners, as are the possibility that charges of cruelty might have to be laid if they caused the injuries.
