It's meant to make people think of an ink painting in the chinese style, although haiku is japanese HOWEVER- the Japanese often borrowed the Chinese style of painting with inks, especially during the Edo period.

Crows are my favorite bird of all, along with Ravens, I think they are gorgeous.

I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite. It would either be Robins or Juncos I think.... hmmm. For me Robins signal that spring is literally a week or two away. And Juncos are just so 'cozy' in the winter. I love their little metallic twitter and how they all flock up and hop around hunting for food... Least favorite bird is the european starling- I didn't mind them until they started mobbing my feeder.
