In addition to Eather Science, there is also Void Science.
Both run on the same principle of manipulation of the different 'worlds'
Void Science however uses more constrained items, such as these pants. Originally intended to for use of fat people to make them look and feel skinner, (including with some of them, walk) they turn into a bit of a fetish and fad with people putting them selves in with other people.
Unfortantly they were not designed to hold more then one person, so there are times that complications do accrue, such as fusing or a term coined as Pop Corn.
Pop corn causes the people inside the pants, where there is more than one, to suddenly explode. (in the pants area)
While proving to be rarely fatal, any piece of the persons body inside the contained area, may be mixed with others, or even completely missing.
As that portion of their body is still in 'the void' and quite often unattainable, they may have to live the rest of their life as the pieces that did escape the void.

Well these two could take them off. While they might have fused together now, their new body would be able to wear pants.
Sometimes though they don't fuse in which case when they open up the pants they can just walk right out and go their separate ways.
There are cases when this has happened, though there was still some minor fusing where if a female was involved with a male, she might have gotten impregnated.
