DUDE!! SOMEONE STOLE MY CARPET!!
This is what the room looks like with the ceiling and insulation removed.
Contractor tells me the carpet and padding got too wet to be salvaged, so... Out it went!
I get a new carpet! Sweet!

Answering this for him. A little while ago, Dipper hgad a microburst that hit his house (along with several others. When it hit his though, it ripped a portion of the plywood from the roofing clean off his house. To make matter's worse, this was also during a particularly bad rain storm, so obviously, with a hole in his roof, water was now dripping into his attic (and subsequently his computer room, as well as his daughters room.)
This caused the roof to eventually weaken which transfered to a hole that developed in the ceiling of his computer room. It was at this point, Dpper made the joke of. "I can look up and see the sky." which, since he does NOT have a sunlight, is obviously a bad thing.
Over the next several hours, the hole in his ceiling widened (due to the weakening of the ceiling caused by the rain) to the point the hole in his ceiling eventually became as big as the hole in his roof.
Heres a journal that details the updates of what happened during that storm, which I was posting for him because he also lost power throughout all this (for several days).

This was by no means something he CHOSE to have done.
I'm just glad he's safe.

Pitty, maybe you should have them take a good look at the walls. Mold is not joking matter. They might have to replace the drywall with something a bit more acoustically friendly. :)
Its good to see things are getting taken care of. Do you know when things will be back together?
