I am so tired. I have been taking Chinese medicine that causes my brain to race and think up stupid crap while I am trying to sleep like Daniel Radcliff wearing a long blond curly doll wig for no ostensible reason what so fucking ever. So it is hard for me to fall asleep, consequently this is why I am usually up late hours these days.
Well, I wasn't going to submit this just yet but I thought I might as well since it's probably going to take me another day and a half to get the cell shading finished and possibly another week to a week and a half or maybe even a lot less to finish up the background plus some additional characters that will be pictured once this piece is finished. So yep, a long ways away, and I've already been so considerably under active on this account that I just feel I should break that tendency if I can at all. It’s not easy with what’s going on in my life right now. I will honestly try to update art or leave comments when I can. I’m not lazy about these things. It’s just so hard to find the right time .____.
So about this image, Those are polar bears pulling the sleigh and the Male Lokie is a Highlander, and his girl is a Valley Loki, meaning that he has white skin where hers is blue but they are of the same race. there just happens to be two sides of this race. All males have antlers (They do not shed them) And females lack these. Lokies aren’t elves so please don’t associate the two . These characters do not have names and are just completely random, I just felt like challenging my self with some different characters of the Lokian persona with something intricate like a sleigh that is pulled by polar bears. If anyone says OMG NARNIA I’m going to throw a nurf ball at them. No Narniaz ) : <
I love my Lokies so much that I focus a lot of time and love into developing their culture. I probably should even it out with the Hylans and the humans and other races in my story, but my Lokies are special.
THIS WAS SO HARD TO DRAW! And UGH the sleigh is probably crooked, but I tried so hard to get it right, and I used a reference to draw the runners but the ref was so small that I had to guess about parts and use my brain to figure out how the body of the sled would actually fit into place atop those runners. The harness has so many mistakes that I don't want to tinker with any longer, and besides that I've already added in all the color and started the cell shading so I really don't want to focus anymore on it since this was a first attempt at something like this for me EVER.
Besides all the countless mistakes, I'm rather proud of my self that I actually did something so challenging and problematical when normally I would have panicked, became an artistic hypochondriac and gave up without any real attempt to find out if I could have succeeded or not. Over all I do think that the lineart came out quite nice regardless of how frustrating it was to draw.
And sorry that I'm drawing Wintery random stuff when I probably should be focusing on Halloween art and finishing up giftart, but I just sometimes get urges to draw something really cultural and this was one of those moments.
I normally LOVE critique and ask for it on my images, but I'm going to ask that critique not be given with this particular piece since it caused me so much frustration, the most obstruction so far out of any of my pieces that I probably shortened my life by 20 years wracking my brain so much Well, critique IS welcome, I just won’t be changing anything. That’s about the right way to put it.
I would like to know what people think of the piece if they care to share their thoughts, but no one is obligated by any means. I don’t want to sound pretentious for welcoming comments and not critiques for this particular piece so I hope that I am not coming off that way.

Thank you very much=D I create my lineart digitally. I usually scan in a sketch and work from their using a new layer in photoshop for the lineart. I use about a 4px brush most of the time, and I always use a tablet. I have the brush setting on "pen tilt".
As for the quality of smoothness, I try to limit the amount of lines that I use and the strokes so that the lines look even and connected. I hope this helps =)
