edit:: you know what, I am just going to reupload this, because the laughtrack on the first one was just too much to handle. Srsly guys. In b4 people demonstrate that they have no clue what they're talking about.
MOST ANNOYING THING EVER 8(. Also terrible photo because I took it in low light and the butterfly is so dark.
This was my first pinning since I bought my basic supplies. It was a pain in the ass omggg rofl ;n; I was working on a janky small piece of styrofoam, so my hands kept shaking trying not to move it, and the bug pins are so small and finicky to handle. I used like a million strips because I was paranoid things would shift. I was totally noob at moving the wings properly, so one has a small hole in it, and I got a tiny bit of scale brushed off the one, but I don't think it's enough to make a huge difference.
It's incredibly amateur, but I think it's alright for my first ever pin lol ;n;
Gonna let him dry out a few days before I move him to my little display case. This has taught me that I do need to invest in a pinning board and a pinning block, since I know my pin is a little high.
Dorp.

I think your friend interpreted my statement wrong, I'm not sure if English is her first language (not meant as an insult, but it would easily mess up in translation). I caught this particular butterfly for the purpose of pinning, but my other one I had found already dead. This was in fact dead when I pinned it, I had frozen it immediately after capture :> Just to clarify for you.
If you don't have issues papering bubberflies or moths, I definitely do not mind adopting them into my display boxxxx. I don't really have any sentimental attachments to location, I just think it's an interesting hobby and I like the process of preparing them for display. I don't even feel bad popping them in the freezer to knock them out, considering they are hugely common species here and it's not like I plan on hoarding every bug that comes onto my lawn haha.
I'm not worrying much about steady supply, I don't really want a massive collection~ I just want a small one that I can tend to in my free time as a side interest :> I'm mostly only interested in butterflies and moths, since I'm honestly pretty squeamish about other bugs haha ;n; /secretly a giant wuss
