That is very true that being picked up by the scruff does NOT hurt the animal... unless you believe that the parents are willingly harming their own kids all the time in nature >:I They start crying out cause they are scared and very vulnerable. Like if someone wrapped their hands around your throat or grabbed your head. Plus a lot of animals can't reach around their bodies with their "arms" :3 I hope this doesn't seem like I'm angry or snapping at you. ^.^; just have stuff against a lot of humans.
It's not exactly about cruelty... It is more about stupidity. Just cause the animal is yelping or whining doesn't automatically mean something is hurting it. One of my friends has a relative that thinks they are treating their animal very well but feeds it human food... So the animal is, of course, obese. Yet they don't see the problem with it.
