Started out as a little request from Big-Duo ended up as this. I usually don't do requests at all, but he's a close friend and I guess I needed a little break from pony and comics X3;

Yes, to anyone who can actually remember/recognize her, that's Zapp. Yet not. In our little RP-verse, Zapp's now sharing body with an AI known as S.H.O.C.K., though the version of it inhabitating her body calls itself Mercy. At the beginning it was being subtle and hid when within the cybernetic parts of Zapp's brain but over time took more control and let its presence to be know. Zapp has quite often been having discussions in a rather skizofrenic matter with this AI.
When Mercy takes full control and pushes Zapp's identity and will far behind, a few things changes to allow you to sense her presence. Her eye shine dissappear, even the cybernetic eye seems without the same glow. Her voice and behavior changes too and she just seems to ooze with the psi-energies the AI can use to manipulate its surroundings or destroy them with.

Really wanted to capture the vibes of Mercy in this and I think I succeeded quite well. Especially the effects in her eyes looks pretty neat. Took some inspiration from Big-Duo's own art od Mercy in control of Zapp's body, on DA http://scwartzwald.deviantart.com/
This was just supposed to be a quick sketch to see if I could draw Mercy at all, but it just went so well I just kept adding more fine details and even shading. My biggest worry was the psi-vectors (tentaclish energies floating around her). They are not visible to the eye, but I still wanted to draw them in one way or another but still keep them subtle. These are the things Mercy reaches out with to force her surroundings into do as she wishes, so I just had to have them in this too. A challenge but I allowed me to experiment a bit with technicues and I like the final result, how simple it may seem.

Overall, I'm way proud of this thing. Man, been a while since I last drew Zapp and I can't recall I ever drew her this well. I messed up a few details though, like the design of her boots but I guess a girl is allowed to wear different kinds of boots now and then.
