While one of the reasons some schools enacted uniform codes is to curb fashion competitions among students, I have it on good authority that girls would still compete to see who could shorten their skirts the most. Here, Tina (left) and Tanya (right), my oldest characters (from 1984-85) illustrate the practice, with Tina declaring victory (she was always an exhibitionist) in a comic first posted to my homepage about 1999 or so. So this one is very old by FA standards.
