Concept Sketch - Meriden
...well, Fur Fright is not for a few months, yet, but I really want to get some art in the conbook this year, so I decided to make a character specifically for this purpose...and I've decided to call her, Meriden.
So, while I was at work, I did a little sketching. I've been contemplating this character for weeks and have really going back and forth with what I wanted her to look like. I wanted her to be classy, yet fun, but kind of seductive...like Elvira. But, FINALLY...after many weeks of thinking about it...I've finally come up with a design that I think I'm happy with.
Meriden is a bat, but the twist is...she's a fruit bat (hence the cherries on her outfit). Also, unlike my Bat (from Hybrid), Meriden has her wings on her back. The outfit she's wearing here is probably not what she's going to be wearing when I draw her fur realz! ...ah, but she's keeping those cherries It's a work in progress! ^^; ...maybe she needs a boy bat companion... I don't know. I'm way passed tired!

Yeah, I slept in today. I got in a little late and didn't go to bed right away. I'm glad you like her, though! I just need to finalize the design and think of a few more things to draw and then, I should be able to start working on things for FF...but, FA:U needs planning, first!
~chuckles~ You could always have Ryan, I'm sure he wouldn't object to being with a lovely bat like her. Plus they're both fruit bats. ;3 Awesome picture as always hun. Any reason you decided to have her wings on her back, instead of on her arms like Bat? (I think that's what you called her, but I could be wrong)

Honestly, I put the wings on her back because it's more cartoony and even though I want her to be lovely and elegant, I also want her to be fun and I think putting her wings on her back will make her less serious and more impish And yes, my bat is just called, Bat. ...er...well, Meriden is my bat now, too...but, Bat was my first bat ^^;
