The premise of a story is, essentially, that OCD is like a contagion. It's told through a series of notes taken by a psychiatrist with a patient referred to as "N.". Numbers were really big for him; "six is a great number but it's followed by the worse of them all, seven". What led to this was his happening upon a field in Maine which held seven stones, except reality kept slipping, leaving six stones. When that happened each time he had to look through a piece of glass, or keep up his ritual of "good" numbers. That's how that relates to your last two panels, the whole numbers thing.
I don't know, maybe it's just so terrifying to me because I'm prone to OCD behavior. Here in Michigan we have a lot of properties that are semi-abandoned, left enclosed in fences of trees. A lot like in the story. In any case I highly recommend it.
