It's enjoyable if you give it a chance. At first it just seems like insanity for insanity's sake and a lot of people dismiss it because of that. Recently I did a piece on it for Uni and one of the other students basically told me straight out "Wow, you're going to have a hard time explaining your piece, because Evangelion makes no sense at all." And I didn't know what to say.
It takes forever to explain, but it's definitely worth the watch! (All of it, original series, OVAs and the movie reimaginings :3)
