
So yeah, I also paint.
This is an acrylic painting on card board I produced quite speedily in my A level. It was the culminating final piece of my decay project, and the aim was to demonstrate the huge complexity and beauty of decay in these autumn ferns.
Across the painting there is sizeable variation in technique, the focussed areas are very highly refined and the fronds have little ridges and spots on them, whereas the areas further into the distance or foreground are all blotchy and fainter. This was mainly done to save time, because being a coursework piece there was a limited production time frame.
[oh, and whilst many A level students trace images from a projector I had to be a purist, so the underdrawing was done entirely freehand]
