So this was a VERY hard piece and this isn't even all of it. ^^;
My aunt and uncle own a greenhouse and we get poinsettias from them every year. One year I pulled her in the christmas gift pool and had to do this piece. There were three flowers and a pot. Each set of petles was cut from a small block of wood and there are two sets per flower plus a pair of stem leaves that were cut from another block, AND the stem which was cut from yet another. Again, each flower had its own pieces as you can see. The pot was the easy part even though I had to sand angles to have it go together correctly. XP It turned out absolutely gorgeous and she loves it. I'm so happy with how it came out.

The petals of the flower are made from blood wood and finished with linseed oil. The stem leaves are stained with evergreen stain and finished with the oil as well and the stem finally is made of white oak with the stem stained green and the stamens finished with only the oil. Again... lots of work and detail.
