A bit of a different style for me, I'm not totally sure if I got it to come out quite right. A bit of a more spiritual story, was in kind of a odd mood when i wrote it, its actually pretty dialog heavy for me. Still i think it gets the point across, though suggestions on the dialog or comments on the story would be much appreciated ^.^.

From what I understand, the Forest spirit decided it would be a waste for Lorne's spirit to be eventually corrupted by human depravity and weakness of the flesh. So instead she tricked him into believing that he would be able to protect his people like a god(from afar) for all eternity if he took up on her offer. But instead she transformed his spirit into a living great hawk gifted with immortality deprived of his former desire to protect the common folk. But other than the deception involved, I think it's a good story to tell if a little vague on his life.
An unusual TF, and unusual is generally good. While I abhor minutae details of a TF sequence, the best part was the conflict of the man when he was falling, and how it was resolved: His old body left behind, unchanged and dead from the fall, while he flew off in his new body. And I was waiting for you to refer to the hawk by name.
I truly loved this. It reminds me of a somewhat similar dream I once had, though my body didn't die and the form was a raven, if I remember correctly. Admirably done; the story flowed well and the details allowed me to visualize it perfectly. It might have been nice to have the spirit beside him, watching the form of his old body being taken inside as well, invisible to mortal eyes at the end... but I still loved it.
