
I still suck at fur, but I'm practicing. first fully digital piece I'm doing for practice. we'll see how he works out.

I've been looking really closely at rabbit fur and fox fur, which is what I have access to. There's just something I'm missing, and I can't figure out what. I plan on setting down and working it out in pencil first, see if that helps out. I'm suspecting it will. Thanks for the advice!

it's somewhere on the forehead/noseridge root area, I think.
with a little luck you can find close-up photos of good quality on the net. thing is, the forehead fur grows downward, while the noseridge fur grows upward. they both "meet" between the eyes, where they create an upward "V" shape so rain water would run down the cheeks toward mouth corner and chin, instead of towards the nose. said "V" leads many "catroon" artists into adding a sharp line between the eyes, even though it's just fur.
