That is an interesting texture effect on the hair, but I don't think it's working here. It really stands out from the rest of the coloring, and kind of gives it a mixed media look.

Delicious and well executed subject matter however. I've been trying to get something similar with a tail curving into the background like that on a pic for many months, and am still having trouble.
