Is it steam punk like? ;u;
So.. Kith and myself have started to attempt steam punk stuffs.
This is a custom painted thingy I did today. I want to add something to the black areas, and it might just be some led tubes.
Feedback is encouraged, just please be gentle. Never done any kind of steam punk stuff before!

I'd get a little watch and put it on the thumb or back of the hand. Doesnt have to work it's just for looks ;P
Also I love it overall but the style of steampunk is almost always brass or copper. By itself I'd say it needs to be brown, but with a steampunk costume all assembled I'm sure it'll look great ^^

In the future, I'd do it in a copper or brass. Silver is more space age and less steam punk.
To add to this, some tubing and fake hydraulics to make each finger look like it controlled individually.
Hydraulics can be made with plastic tubing and heavy duty straws!
Remember the key to steam punk.
The larger and more unnecessary the better!

Gonna toss ya some ref links that might help with minor touch-ups. I agree it seems more space age than steampunk. Still amazing!!!

I think if you darkened the lines in between the panels on the glove, it might make it look less futuristic. Any little touches that an actual metal item like that would have (scratches, dents, etc.) should help lend 'life' to it.
Also, what kind of character was this for? When you figure out a steampunk persona, it becomes easier. Don't just slap gears on it (I'm starting to loathe gears because people just stick them on and 'I'M SO STEAMPUNKU WUAHHH' ensures -_-). What kind of item is it? Does it do something special? How would it work?

I like what roguefox89 wrote, that this can fit into MANY genres. I saw on the movie "Wild Wild West" where one of the villains (very minor character) was wearing something like this...it could be in Star Trek (as Borg), it could be steam punk as well as diesel punk I believe. so have fun with it; your creativity is AWESOME! Don't be surprised to be asked about it...Take some pics of different angles, too. I'd love to see them.
