My first commission of all time. After seeing me parade around town in costume, I recieved a knock on the door requesting a commission for a woman's son. He's a huge fan of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger video games (I too love those games XD)
And well, I simply couldn't just brush this off! This suit took me roughly, all together...I'd say a week. It consists a full body suit, which is a furst for me. Its made of fleece rather then fur. We weren't able to find the right colored fur, and Ty himself isn't all that furry obviously. So I settled for fleece. (which was very hard to work with might I add?)
This suit was full of firsts for me. I've never used the "duct-tape method" for furring the head. *sighs* It was very difficult, but all together worth it. I've always wanted to try that.
I made him some foot-paws. Turns out his feet were swollen for some medical reason (can't remember what) and he was unable to wear them. However should they get the medical condition under controll, they should fit just fine.
Note: It is NOT EASY GETTING A SIX YEAR OLD KID TO HOLD STILL FOR MEASUREMENTS!!!! *flails*

Since I already knew the woman and they were having trouble financially, we agreed on 50 dollars if she would provide materials. Making costumes for kids is far more tiresome then doing it for yourself or people of equal age. XD Its depressing to think that he's going to out grow it :(
$50 isn't too bad considering she provided the materials. Yeah I think it would end up being more trouble than it's worth, I may come up with some sets of little ears and paws based of gloves where I just fur the back of the hand and tails... It wouldn't take too much, and they don't outgrow it too fast :)
I do not recomend doing a full head and body suit as I did for this little guy. His mother told me that when he went trick-or-treating, she ended up carrying the head more then he wore it -_-
And antoher thing, she never paid me...which totaly angered me. Thats why I'm not taking any more commissions. It was one of those "I'll pay you on monday when I get my check" And when monday, then tuesday and so on rolled around, I never got my payment -_-
I'd just do little ears and paws, maybe some tails too.
