IA 4 felt very rushed :/

It should have been a good half-an-hour longer.
Just for example - the love story of Shira and Diego was very unnatural. The director should have better just hinted that Diego has hots to her and rather focused on Shira's need for trustful friends. idk..

Ice age 3 felt like a masterpiece of comedy and story. IA 4 feels a bit off.

yeah, i can agree with you there, it feel a bit rushed and mostly due too many subplots is one movie, the love relationship between diego ans shira did feel a bit forced, giving diego a love interest just for the sake having some reason for diego to be there and not become a useless character.

I hope they will get the old writers/ director back for the 5th movie if there ever will be one.

IA4 has so little new to offer

Manny plays absolutely the same character as in Ice age 2. no development
Diego I already mentioned..
Sid stayed the same
Absolutely underplayed Eddy and Crash.
The most boring characters - Ellie and whoever was her daughter - have too much screen time
Scrat's adventures cannot be compared to the awesome story of Ice age 3
Thank Odin for Captain Gutt, he was cool. Crew was overplayed - kangaroo and bunny could have been removed.

yep, i agree on those things too.
manny and sid stayed pretty much the same, which is good in the case of sid because he was still funny.
yeah, there should have more funny scenes with eddie and crash
ellie and peaches, the daughter, were the most boring characters with the typical teen peer pressure storyline.
i thought scrats parts were the funniest parts of the movie.
yeah, captain gutt was cool, probably the best character in the movie.
i really hope they don't do a 5th movie because i really think they are starting to beat a dead horse with a stick with this 4th movie.

that's why they WILL make another one and that's why our only hope is few good comedians to work on it. .. They could call Seth McFarlane :D (the main person behind the Family Guy). Ice Age 5 - full of fart jokes, flashbacks and randomness

yeah, sad, but so very true, only reason why dreamworks makes a lot of sequels, if there will a 5th movie, i don't think i will see it, at less in the theaters anyway.
i'm kind of yes and no with seth mcfarlane, i mean yes i like family guy, but would that kind of humor fit ice age? i don't think so. :/
