There's something called canon, which establishes how characters are.
Fursonas have no canon, unless their owner sets one.
It means that guy can have his yellow wolf, because that's how it's supposed to be from design.
And Cobalion is completely teal, yes.
What you and Jake are doing is FANART, which doesn't have to be subject to the canon set by the owners of the character.
