One day, it happens, and what used to be your source of greatest joy, your lodestar, your driving force becomes the source of the greatest pain that you have to carry in your heart all alone.
The life goes on, but only because nobody told it to stop. People come and go, unnonticed and unaware, like in the thick mist of Scotland. You are doomed to never see sunshine again. All you have left are memories...
And yet, you are thankful for those.
Because of the color of the wheat fields...

As someone who's currently traveling that road after a broken engagement and a very solitary 17-hour drive from our residence back to my hometown, I can't help but to admire this piece, and really relate with it. The line, "All you have left are memories... And yet, you are thankful for those" really hits home as well. Fantastic job, and thank you for sharing this piece with all of us too. It's obviously drawn (pardon the pun) from personal experience.
This reminds me of "Letters. . ." by Abney Park: http://youtu.be/MXwHFFoJ4Nk
This picture made me cry.. No, sob. The very though of life happening and my boyfriend being taken away from me permanently haunts me constantly, and is forever a fear of mine, and this shed many needed tears. Thank you. This is a beautiful picture, very emotional, very sweet. It's nice seeing something that impacts so much emotion. This is an astounding picture, one I would enjoy coming back to and soaking in it's emotional beauty. Not many artists draw a picture like this. This truly is one of my most favorite pictures from any artist.
