Did you know the Highway Patrol uses concentrated coke to clean blood and other stains off the highway after accident's? I am not certain if they still do, But i know for a fact if you put a ten penny nail in a bottle of coke in a few weeks or months it will be gone .
And this end's my nerdie presentation
And this end's my nerdie presentation
Im fairly sur eit was coke, but it doesnt mean im right i do have oldtimer's after all. I think you can do a search for Use's for coke and it would be in there somewhere.
To be honest any of the soft drinks we drink these days would take the paint off your car in concentrated form >.>
But the Nail thing i did myself years ago and was stunned (Mainly because i forgot about it) And a few months later the nail was gone.

i think they just use coke in mexico, according to my friend who's from one of the villages down there. I don't think they use it in the states. We had a guy end up on our lawn dead, and the cops/firefighters just threw some kitty litter on the blood in the grass and then just washed the jaws of life off with water in the street.

"The next time you're stopped by a highway patrolman, try asking him if he's ever scrubbed blood stains off a highway with Coca-Cola (or anything else). If you're lucky, by the time he stops laughing he'll have forgotten about the citation he was going to give you."
(Also, http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/tooth.asp . I remember the "teeth dissolving in coke" thing being demonstrated when I was in kindergarden or first grade or so, but I'm pretty sure it took months for it to dissolve completely.)

I agree with you 100% on this. I actually thought that was the whole purpose of creating and selling. They are no longer your property after they are sold. Just the original work. What does it matter to you if they use it for snuff art or what not. *shrugs* And I love grape jell pup so cute~
Hm, y'know, I'd rather have a more secular flavour, thank you very much.
That seems to defy the very limited point of adoptables "Pay me for a rights to a character, its yours to do with whatever you want so long as it's what I want!". It'd be like a paper manufacturer calling me up and going "CEASE AND DESIST YOUR FAT ANIMALS, MAN!"

lawdy. And I was already watching you, I blame that picture from
kihu you got.
kihu you got.
This made me giggle. I certainly don't mind the adoptable craze going on right now, but I would find it a bit silly if folks were to get their jimmies rustled because lo and behold...some folks are using the designs they bought for stuff the original maker isn't a fan of. XD
Also, while these situations aren't always black and white (sometimes the adoptables have terms attached, which is pretty stupid but I suppose if you agree to them...), the worst part is how many of the fans will automatically side with the artist and pull a typical "fan-vulture attack-squad" manuever. If we didn't promote this kind of behaviour I imagine it would be far less prevalent.
...or am I just thinking wishfully? I suppose the internet is a big, anonymous zone perfect for breeding assholish behaviour.

Hey!
I recolored that lineart 24 times with my own two hands! It took me THREE WHOLE HOURS to make those adoptables, and then someone just gives me five bucks, walks away with my character who I filled with love, emotion and the Paint Bucket Tool, and just LET HIM GET EATEN.
I didn't create them for this kind of torture! THINK ABOUT THE 01010010 01000001 01010011 01010100 01000101 01010010 !!!

And this is why I love you Pie.
I never got the point of adoptables myself. I kinda prefer making my own characters. But that might just be how I view my characters and what have you. Feels more satisfying to dream up my own then buy something someone else made.
And of course the other reason is highlighted here. Some artists just get attached to tehre characters/designs they flip the fuck out. Even when the basic principle of adoptables is you signed away the rights.ownership of the character for the cost of a cheeseburger, fries and a coke. but you know furry fandom. I'm used to drama for stupid reasons at this point.
...Do any of your adoptables come in cherry?

no. i get why they would be upset. just because you sell a character. doesn't mean you don't care about it. It just means there is nothing you can do with it,
lets put it this way.
someone adopts a cat from you. you then find out they used it to feed their snake. wouldn't feel too good now would it?
just sparking a debate here XD

it depresses me that this is even a debate at all -_-.
its not just a drawing it's a character.
if their a part of vore (which I think makes NO sence at all anyhow) and they appear fine later and the person who bought them cares for them I have no issue with it. it is when they are killed that upsets me.

Which is something you as seller consented to, whether or not you knew it at the time. By saying "Here, i made this character, if you use it you can buy from me and do whatever you want" you consented to it. Vy putting the rights to the character up for sale, you accepted the fact that the seller might use use the characters in ways you intended.
The seller pretty much gave up the rights to there creation. The way I see it is they're only now just realizing the full implications of this. Imagine if I made a image editing program. A sort of "Photoshop" if you will. I programed it, sold it then found out someone was using it to make images and posters supporting an ideology I don't like and I tried to stop them, even though they legally paid to use my program for whatever they want, so long as it falls within legal boundaries.
Unless they were using for illegals means, there's nothing I could do to stop them. I'd look like an entitled baby.
"How DARE they give me money to use my product for THIS! Who do these jackanapes thing I am?!"
Ask around the comic book and video game industries about character and IP rights. This is a lot like that.

And thus you'd invoke a variant of the Sterisand Effect.
How would you enforce this? Refusing to sell to people who clearly enjoy vore? That's not good capitalism, since you're discriminating against customers. You'd lose because you wouldn't let certain people buy your product, and thus, people who aren't into vore would see you as an elitist and a control freak. And don't mention commissions from people who refuse to draw certain things. There's a clear difference between not taking a job you want and selling a pre-made product.
There's no way you could enforce this in a way that you don't walk away looking like a jerk. An honour system for adoptables wouldn't really work. That tag is a crapshoot; people will see it and get ideas. It's like those anti-piracy things they make you watch on DVDs. All it does is remind of the thing you should not be doing but we just told you so now you'll do it.

.. so me saying "YOU CAN NOT EAT THESE" is not right?. I'm not an elitist. I just enjoy the characters I make enough not to see them made into a snack.
oh and not an honor system. I would keep a lookout over the Oc's adopted. seriously.
a disclaimer would be in the description " not for vore. if used for vore the character must not be completely killed off. of killed off completely then the character is back in my possession" sorry i don't want characters i make killed!
If it's used for vore but then the character is still alive after. then it's fine. but not if its a one time snack >.>

Yeah, it sorta *is*. "Pay for my characters and there yours!...So long as you play by MY rules!" Isn't elitist? You're selling a product then telling people what they can't do with it. That's bound to rub people the wrong way. I bought your character. You forfeit the rights to it the moment money switched hands. I can do whatever I like with. Don't want people doing stuff you don't like to your characters? Don't sell them! Again, when you put them up for sale, you're giving the character rights to the buyer. When money changes hands, you no longer factor into things.
So, stalking your customers then? yeah, I'm sure you'll get lots of people lining up for your characters. Go ask about EA's Origin System and see how people like being watched over a product they legitimately bought. =V

1 what about stores with the (we have the right to refuse service) signs? are they elitist?
and also. not completely stalking. i just like to see what's been done with the characters. idk. i guess i just think of my adoptables differently. \
people think ill make characters specifically for selling. I think "well here are designs that i really can't use. might as well give em to people instead of trash em"

That is for customers who are explicitly being a problem during the transaction or you know will do something illegal or will cause some kind of trouble (Ei the obviously intoxicated). There's a clear difference between refusing service to a troublemaker and refusing service because "I don't like you".
That's fine. But if I bought a character off someone, I'd kindly like the the seller to not lord over what I can and can't do. he wants his character back? Refund me or to put it bluntly go hang.
Eitehr way, put your characters, or anything up for sale you accept that the customer can, and perhaps will, do things with your product you wouldn't like. Complaining and whining about it after the fact just makes you look like, again, a control freak.
*sigh* this is why the fandom can't have nice things.

Well say you have a character of 4 that you can't do anything with. but you don't want them to go to waste. "don't want them to go to waste" thus doesn't want them killed..
this happened to a character that was adopted from me. (I keep an eye on the OC's I adopt out,) I actually felt upset they would just take the character to then kill off.
can you sort of understand?

Um, no, not really. I have had many characters over the years and certainly some have gone into retirement and at least one I let a friend take over since I was never going to use again, but the characters I no longer use were not killed off they just went into obscurity.
Frankly, with the attachment I have to characters I create the idea of letting some stranger take control of them that I have no idea how they might use them is enough I would never do such a thing. More so, since I have the ability to create my own characters the idea of buying a character design from someone else makes no sense at all. I could never have the same attachment to some random character I picked up, the little bit of me I put into characters would not be there and thus no attachment.

Can i have one that tastes like the tobacco mosaic virus...or or if you are a modern youth that likes slang terms, "ACETYLSERYLTYROSYLSERYLISOLEUCYLTHREONYLSERYLPROLYLSERYLGLUTAMINYLPHENYLALANYLVALYLPHENYLALANYLLEUCYLSERYLSERYLVALYLTRYPTOPHYLALANYLASPARTYLPROLYLISOLEUCYLGLUTAMYLLEUCYLLEUCYLASPARAGINYLVALYLCYSTEINYLTHREONYLSERYLSERYLLEUCYLGLYCYLASPARAGINYLGLUTAMINYLPHENYLALANYLGLUTAMINYLTHREONYLGLUTAMINYLGLUTAMINYLALANYLARGINYLTHREONYLTHREONYLGLUTAMINYLVALYLGLUTAMINYLGLUTAMINYLPHENYLALANYLSERYLGLUTAMINYLVALYLTRYPTOPHYLLYSYLPROLYLPHENYLALANYLPROLYLGLUTAMINYLSERYLTHREONYLVALYLARGINYLPHENYLALANYLPROLYLGLYCYLASPARTYLVALYLTYROSYLLYSYLVALYLTYROSYLARGINYLTYROSYLASPARAGINYLALANYLVALYLLEUCYLASPARTYLPROLYLLEUCYLISOLEUCYLTHREONYLALANYLLEUCYLLEUCYLGLYCYLTHREONYLPHENYLALANYLASPARTYLTHREONYLARGINYLASPARAGINYLARGINYLISOLEUCYLISOLEUCYLGLUTAMYLVALYLGLUTAMYLASPARAGINYLGLUTAMINYLGLUTAMINYLSERYLPROLYLTHREONYLTHREONYLALANYLGLUTAMYLTHREONYLLEUCYLASPARTYLALANYLTHREONYLARGINYLARGINYLVALYLASPARTYLASPARTYLALANYLTHREONYLVALYLALANYLISOLEUCYLARGINYLSERYLALANYLASPARAGINYLISOLEUCYLASPARAGINYLLEUCYLVALYLASPARAGINYLGLUTAMYLLEUCYLVALYLARGINYLGLYCYLTHREONYLGLYCYLLEUCYLTYROSYLASPARAGINYLGLUTAMINYLASPARAGINYLTHREONYLPHENYLALANYLGLUTAMYLSERYLMETHIONYLSERYLGLYCYLLEUCYLVALYLTRYPTOPHYLTHREONYLSERYLALANYLPROLYLALANYLSERINE"
