Obviously the art is inspired by the art technique of Lee Adam Herold and if I get this published, he's gonna get part of the dedication.
This is completely digital, though I tried really hard to emulate the technique. The hard part was to create a custom brush that acted anything like a sponge.

It's supposed to be kind of a dark thing. I'd post it but it's ripe for the thieving. Post a chapter of a story and it'd take a lot of work for someone to steal it. Post a completed poem and someone can gank and run with your work. Downside to working in words instead of pixels: people can steal your ideas and hard work and you can't watermark it or reduce the pixel count. If someone can read it they can take it and I've worked hard on this. Nobody'll see the work in its entirety until I am done with all the illustrations and have a copy or two in my hands to send to publishers and reaffirm my copyright.
This looks really interesting, but I'm reluctant to dowload all 20 pages. (I have a dial-up connection that's as slow as George Bush admitting a mistake.) From the thumbnails I discern there's probably a story behind this -- but without the words it's impossible to follow.
