My super awesome XP machine died awhile back after I duct taped a GTX280 to it and supercharged it with a 1200watt PSU. My old 939 mobo pretty much went "WTF?!BOOM@!#%!!". Not making old 939's anymore with DDR1 slots I needed a new mobo, CPU, and RAM. Putting more money into a decent Proc, I skimped on the Mobo and RAM ending up with almost no USB ports and 2GB of RAM. I stayed on the old XP HDD for awhile which barely ran PS to begin with. I then replaced the 7-8 year old HDD and loaded in Windows 7 on the new HDD. PS didn't run so hot with Win7 and 2gb of RAM to play with so all my cool painting tricks were impossible to preform..
So today, while I was out and about with my faithful little Matsuda (my MX-3) to pick up my paycheck, plus to let him stretch his legs since Kaibutsu (my RX-8) has been doing most of the driving lately, I finally got off my lazy/frugal arse and bought more RAM. Now operating on 10gigz it's like going from a diesel VW hatchback to a bloody RX-8 with a 10k RPM redline or something.... yeah.. like that..
So now I can open massive PSD files (like life size and shit) and pick up where I left off on this photo-realism-lineless stuffs, plus other kinds of digi-paintings. Either way, enough of this mindless banter about the goofy history of my make shift custom computer. Enjoy the resulting arts. Maybe I can finally finish page four of that comic now that my computer doesn't have a panic attack every five seconds now.
