There's quite a story behind this image. Originally done for fun in 2001 following something I saw in a web comic somewhere, I did the graphic up to look very official.
Astounding story below regarding this graphic.
Then, in 02' I move from the US to NZ. Following this move, a lot of very heavy luggage came with me. (Back when you could bring a few hundred pounds of luggage with you... ah those were the days.) I had one specific case, very heavy, with large stainless steel locking clamps, armoured corners, spring loaded handles, the works. It looked very official, very questionable. Now, this case only had computer equipment and an Oscilloscope, however, on the outside I bolted a mirrored stainless steel plate and started applying all kinds of warning stickers.
This was one of about 6 others, of very questionable severity.
This case, went through 3 International, American airports, and NOT ONCE was questioned, or opened.
It wasn't until I got to Sydney that the ticket agent had a double take at the plate covered in warnings and said 'hang on a tick...'
Not until I left the states was there was someone smart enough to realize that perhaps a case containing quantum events might not be the smartest thing to have on an international flight. I told the lady when she asked, 'It was a test, and you passed' - mentioning how far I travelled and despite the number of airports we went through, it hadn't be questioned. We had a good laugh about it as I ripped off all the superfluous warnings.
I'll upload some of the other interesting warnings later on.
