I'm shivering, but I don't know if it's because of the cold, or your poem... Your poems have moved me in the past, but I had forgotten just how incredible your writing actually is... Especially because this speaks so strongly to my lovesick little heart.

I actually haven't read your poem yet. I'll comment again after. But your phrase that your mom taught you... I don't agree with it. I think in loving someone sometimes is the fact that you love them which allows you to believe them when they tell you that you're not all bad, that you're not shit. I think you can hate yourself for hurting someone you love. I think self in love is very small. It does determine who you love to an extent, you aren't going to be attracted to someone you just don't like or get along with but I think that love is someone who clicks with you and just does. When you feel so attached to them that you hurt when they hurt, that every blow against them is one against you. That's what I believe love is. At least this kind of love. And I think there are several. Love is not so easily defined that one definition applies.

But that's just me. What's true for me might not be true for you. I'll read your poem now.

I enjoyed your poem, it had depth to it. The use of metaphor was good. Imagery as well.
