Kil's human side at a recent SCA Tournament. (While its hard to see, the helmet does have a brass gryphon on the brow)

Now I just need to find the time to dish and finish them.
Highland war in Victorville is at the end of August...
It'll be my first war in over 20 years- IF I can get suited up again, and enough practices in to authorize beforehand.
I have all the parts and materials in hand...
I just need to build it all.

Nice kit.

Planning on a nice schynbald (greaves) set soon.
Have a 16g steel cuirass for heavy melee and dress to swap out with the plastic/aluminum.
I scored a half sheet of .080 5061 alloy aluminum in T6 for scrap price a while back-
I'm making gothic 15th century German harness from it, but its so thick and hard that I'll probably have to forgo creasing it for now due to time constraints.
Minimums for now...Plackart and backplate, legs, arms, and if the materials stretch far enough, simple spalders.
I was not sure what I would use the aluminum for...But I don't have enough cash to buy steel instead, so I'm using what I got.
My helm top came in from Ironmonger, so I can build the sallet now.
(12 gauge mild steel...It'll do for now.)
Ultimately, I intend a full harness in 18 gauge stainless.
But that will be some time in the future.
I really need a welder to finish the grill- though I can cheat and do a solid center bar, drilled and with the crossbars slipped through and riveted to the sides.
I have leather and steel 14th century bits and pieces lying around...Arms and legs, mostly.
So I could do early to mid 14th if I cannot finish the aluminum armor in time.
I'd really prefer the gothic harness if I can manage to dish it all and assemble it in the next two weeks.
I have a HUGE late period visored bascinet I got for cheap...But its so big on me that its a last resort that I'll use if the sallet cannot be patterned and finished in time.
The maker made the grill in long, pointed bars like a houndskull..but it does not work very well.
Balances oddly, and it sticks out like the nose of a fighter jet.
If I use it, I need to change out the visor completely.. And drill it for vervailles and hang an aventail.

Though my former Eastern Knight's Daughter was Queen of Northshield.
I'm an Eastern/Aethelmearc type. Currently living in Trimaris (although I have also lived in the Midrealm).
