You left your home
You're so far from
Everything you know
Your big dream is
Crashing down and out your door
Wake up and dream once more
Come back when you can
Let go, you'll understand
You've done nothing at all to make me love you less
So come back when you can
Barcelona - Come Back When You Can
That song, which I heard through watching The Vampire Diaries, is the sole reason why this piece came into being. You can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmAX8dqj_HU
As soon as I listened to the song, I felt a lot of different emotions flooding through me. I first heard it on the same day that I had to watch as my sister and her husband drove off, leaving me behind, to live their lives on the other side of the country. To live and grow up with someone for your entire life and share years upon years of memories with them, and then one day to watch them leave you behind, to say the least, it was heartbreaking.
That song also means a lot to me because it reflects back onto my own life where my parents had to let me go, to go off and study away from home in order to live out my own career dream. It's difficult and there's not a day that goes by where I don't wish I could go back to the days where no one had to say goodbye. Back to the days where no one had to leave for long periods of time not knowing when the next time we would see one another again.
I'll come back when I can.
I've been really inspired lately to draw Raine and he suits this piece really well because, while I haven't completely figured out his whole back story, there was a time when he had to leave his older brother behind to try to pursue his own dreams.

Technically the blue filtered version is more accurate as far as lighting is concerned, but for some reason I prefer this version more. I think it's because the character stands out more.

Very emotional. I do like the meaning behind this piece. I hope your sister and her husband have a great life together. Nice choice of song to go with this. :)
Here is another Barcelona song I remember coming across. *nods* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJtHg9FbLUA

I'm sure they will have a great life together. It's too bad that I cannot be a part of their lives for some time what with schooling and all. It's a pretty crappy feeling but I know that I have to finish everything that I've started where I am now before I can join up with them again one day. :/
That song isn't bad but the tempo is a liiiittle bit too slow for my taste. Thanks for sharing, though. :3
