Floppy ears!

I love seeing normally-cropped breeds with natural floppies. So much cuter when they haven't been tortured.

"Tortured"? Crops are perfectly humane.
However, I also think they have a much friendlier look with floppy ears... My next Dobe may have a tail as well.

No, I do not. But the foreskin of a human penis actually serves a purpose. The erection of a canine ear is the opposite; it in fact improves upon the dog's hearing. The floppy ear of a domestic dog is actually a weakness. It reduces the dog's cone of hearing. When a dog is to be used as a personal protection animal, it also serves to reduce a handle which a human opponent could grasp and therefor effectively stop an attacking dog. (That is, a short crop does. Dobermans were historically cropped relatively short; the recent popularity of the silly-looking long crop is purely for show.)
