Deep in the ancestry of the gigantic Shauan lies a diverse history. Before they became the giants they are today thier ancestors were smaller, lightweight creatures that could fly under thier own power. The closest relative of this ancient dragon is a small, aboreal creature with large wings and decorative horns. Males have large, impressive horns banded with colored stripes. Unlike in Shauans males and females are roughly the same size, though they maintain similar - though much looser - societies.

This is a half-way painting I started earlier in the month. While it has the shading and background work of a digital painting, it still retains inklines, stylized features and saturated tones of a cartoon style. The reason I do these is because shading takes a very long time and coloring a proper background takes even more time and planning. So I half-ass and do this.

Maybe I'll start a proper painting later this week. If I finish before Guild Wars 2 comes out, great. If not YOU WILL NEVER SEE ME AGAIN.
