This can go one of two ways... hope the kid has a Bat for option B.

It isn't exactly what you expect. Remember, this is a kids' book.

I know,.. just, as a child.. I wanted a Baseball Bat cause of that lump in the corner of my room.
A lump, I might add, that I could never find in the daytime.

I developed this weird reaction to that kind of fear. I jump up in its face.
On the rare occasion that I hear a noise that makes me unhappy in a darkened apartment, I step out ready to kill. I forget common sense, reasonable purpose for self preservation fear or anything resembling passivity. I was known as a child for punching people who jumped out of the dark at me. It's sort of a knee-jerk "KILL IT! KILL IT!" type of reaction.

i like the contrast of the spooky setting (from the kids viewpoint) and the poster on the wall saying "fun" doesnt look like hes having fun at the moment.

I had to work on that for a while. The first three poster ideas I had just didn't work in the page.

Now it's really getting interesting. I'm not sure where this is going, but I'm hooked.
