The Amaelohi

The Amaelohi are a quiet race, little is known about them because of their abilities and wide territory. It is even harder to gain information about such creatures due to their solitary nature, shapeshifting ability and the fact there are a few notable subspecies.

FIGURE ONE
Amaelohi ears are large and accurate, the thick bases allow the ears to remain upright and not droop. They can be moved and turned representing emotions however such maneuvers as in this figure are rarely seen as even with the base an upright position is not comfortable.

FIGURE TWO
It is unsure exactly what these things called "GEMS" are but each and every Amaelohian has one on any part of their body some even have it internally. This gem gradually collects energy from internal and external sources and currently has no known limit to what levels it can contain.
The gem is precious and it is a theory that removing it will kill the Amaelohian.
The main known power of the gem is controlled mutation or "Shape-shifting" the extent of such ability is unknown but it can be used for minor changes. Most notable is the tail.
It does use up energy however and their is a limit to how much they can do and when.

FIGURE THREE
Amaelohians are mammals however they can bare reptillian features like scales and horns, as part of their shapeshifting powers they can grow horns, spikes and/or scutes.

FIGURE FOUR
Amaelohian eyes are usually black with a coloured "Iris/pupil", however this can be subject to change but the colours can not change.
When power reaches maximum or is in use for a massive purpose their eyes will turn completley white and glow.

GENDER
Male and Female has a thin line as either gender can produce a Haploid cell containing either a X or Y chromosome and of course with minor shapeshifting they can imitate genitalia.
Long story short they have Males and Females but can become a Hermaphrodite but with a predominant gender.
Things like nipples etc only appear when aroused.

TAILS
The main thing recognizable on all Amaelohians is a mouth in the tail, some individuals may have eyes also. Despite having what can appear as a "Second head" the tails do not possess a brain but do have a nervous system. The tail is under the control of the Amaelohian but can sometimes make snap movements based on the current situation without the Amaelohian realizing.
Often when in "mouth mode" The tails become overly long and very big. Not a problem. Like this the tail can be used for extra purposes like a chair, bed, blanket etc

PUPS
Amaelohians can bare 1-3 Pups normally/on average. Pups are small and already have their fur. A pups tail is already set on the "Mouth" form this often makes it appear as if they have a head at each end as the mouth is fairly big at birth. The large mouth helps protect from predators as well as keeping the pups warm.

NAMES
Being born with fur means that their colours are known from birth (sometimes other colours can form as they age but this is rare), often this influences their names.
For example:
Albaluna is a blue-ish/silvery colour or moon colours hence the "Luna".
Monoskritch was so named because at birth he was fairly monochrome in colour.
So on and so forth.
