I had this with me when I first showed up again but I hadn't submitted it cuz I wanted to show it to Sinha first. he hasn't been online for some reason lately though so I'm posting it anyway and hoping I can still surprise him. X3
I did this simple portrait of my friend, Sinha for two reasons...no, three actually. one; I wanted to get better at drawing larger so I could go into more fine detail on my future art (this is gonna take some practice).
Two; I do this with characters I've never drawn before, especially characters of commissioners. It's to hammer out the character details in a separate render as to not screw up on the commission itself, when it counts.
Three; I wanted an excuse to paint those eyes like I wanted to. I love painting eyes. This latest technique is one of the most beautiful I've come across, but I only ever did it on the standard size characters, which are normally pretty small and don't let these lovely details show up very well. So I draw some far larger lineart for the sake of detail.
Well I hope he likes it. Cuz I do.

Yeah, like Jir said, I've been without the net lately. My old apartment went through a plumbing disaster and the new one won't have the net until November at least.
Still, this DEFINITELY was a pleasant surprise! :) This one is going down as one of my new favorite portraits! :)
