Sorry for missing the reply button on my last post.
Experimenting is always good for getting new ideas and styles. I like textures too, but they can be tricky if not added decent. Overdrawn textures can look artificial and out of place. But I see you used them wisely ;)

Thanks very much :)
I know what you mean (in German we say "Es ist schwer über deinen eigenen Schatten zu springen" = "It's difficult to jump over your own shadow" what means that you cannot break up with things you worked well with and for a long time). I usually draw in a certain style for a some time and manage to find another style by changing the topic/theme my art is about or by mixing different things I never tried (like jumping from a mythological setting to a futuristic one which often needs a change in style as well). I use a certain way of drawing anthro characters; some other things I draw look quite different. That makes it easier for me to try out different styles.

I once read about how to create concepts for animated movies and a citations said: "Don't try to hard to find a completely new style or new characters, just change the setting and everything will be completely new." (I think it's from the illustrator and concept artist Finlay Cowan). He's right. Every setting and every new story needs another style of visualization.
