Just another preview of some new BG graphics. Started creating the first few decorative items, so the rooms don't look so empty! Now I just have to make those barrels and crates destructible, so I can try out spells on them. Hah!
The torch flames are real-time particle effects, by the way, and already look quite nice in motion... Of course that doesn't really show in a still picture. :B

For now, I can spawn about 20+ of the things in a room before things start to lag ( and in-game there should rarely be more than two or four ). I'll probably have to optimize and/or simplify some effects, though, once I start adding more things to the dungeon.
( And yeah, messing with effects can be fun. That's one of the reasons why I wanted the game to be primarily based around a wide variety of magical spells. ;P )
