I posted Thursday's comic early this week.
I'm not going to downplay it, this page is probably my favorite page so far. Panel two was the result of an idea I had in my head for a couple of years, so it was nice to have it finally come to life.

I just had this funny realization that it's a good thing you are able to restrain yourself from getting too excited and drawing your favorite ideas that will appear much much later on in the comic-only to end up not using them due to a change of plot.
I can really see the effort that went into this, I look closely and see stippling of so much colors subtly working together. This is a very impressive execution of the blend of tropics and winter. I really like the transition in the first panel. and I don't know if it's intentional, but the presence of the coconut plant(?) makes it feel like a world inside a world, don't think that made sense. and whew, after much suspense, Maggot appears to be fine, hopefully for real? or it could be just a mirage of some sort that frogoblims see when they're freezing to death. oh noes D:

It happens all time time that I have an idea that I like but I wind up not using. Really, I'd say there's a lot of stuff that doesn't make it in the comic or goes through editing after a while. But I'm glad this was able to stay in tact, not as a "this is a pet project that the artist just felt like throwing in" kind of way, but in a way that is quite relevant to the plot and the characters. I can't say too much, but it will make more since in a few pages. (And then more questions will surely come up.)
Yeah, I imagine it may be hard sometimes to let go of an idea that seemed too good at the time, but if it won't help the comic in any way, no reason to keep it and force it to fit in. And well, the questions add to the excitement so woop, I'm just dying to find out what this is :D
