I'm touched, honestly. What I meant was that back then I was trying too hard to be "poetic", focused more on technical aspects and making a rhyming scheme. I had just made a series of rhymes, really, not poetry. This time I let I let emotions guide me, and the results were far and above better.
Yeah, though I know poetry by no means requires rhyming, it's a crutch I'm leaning on. I find that it helps with flow, and guides the mind to read it in a way that lends its own elegance, to encourage emphasis on certain sylables that give it an almost musical quality as you read it. At least, that's where my thought process takes me when pondering "poetry".
