So I mentally contemplated the idea of lil' Michiel the Delibird having a few crushes among his fellow classmates and one of the ones that struck out at me mentally was having one of those crushes being Mitzi,
Carlito's rather ditzy yet lovable Growlithe girl from Team Jet.
Now there's a 97.0% chance this kind of scene ain't ever happening, since for this to happen Michi would have to...you know...*talk* to her and stuff. Which of course leads to him reminding folks he's half Ice-type by freezing up every time he tries due to his shyness. The fact that the rest of her team scares the crud out of him doesn't help matters, either...
Blame Carlito himself for giving me the idea to have 'em eating ice cream :P

Too true, too true.
Of course, the most I can ever really see from these two is them becoming Just Friends. And that's okay, really.
(of course, the big inevitable question still lingers in my mind - what would the rest of the team think of this? Probably nothing, as he's not much of a threat on his own.)

Oh, okay then. Sorry for overreacting ._.
It's funny in a way, I've done in the past *A LOT* of "photoshop sins" (except lens flare, I like to think I was always fairly careful in how I use that) and this is the first time in a long time I really get called on it. Most I ever got was a crit about using too much smudge which I took to heart and have tried being careful with since. But that's just me.
Not saying I'm an uber-pro at PS7, just a smart one. Or something. Dah.

I see a lot of art done in photoshop and I generally have a good time trying to identify the tools/techniques the artist uses in their piece of work. Sometimes I can't find as many as one might think.
I really only dislike the 'automatic' functions of photoshop. Filters, gradients, lens flares, etc. I think the best result is achieved when the artist has 'full' command of their drawing. I think it would've been a good idea if you had found some oak leaves, scanned them (wouldn't be hard to do, alter their color to match the image and place them on the corners rather than just using the brush.
I do want to be helpful. I think the only way to learn how to get better is by identifying what doesn't work.

Fair enough. And I admit to sometimes enjoying studying certain drawings to see if I can decipher how they go about coloring and shading certain pics.
As for that....once again, another case of "late-nite mojo overtaking my need to sleep in favor of putting idea on paper" --or screen, as the case may be. Meaning that I once again look to the excuse of "lost energy to want to be overly CREATIVE near the end of this project's completion", which...I admit is one of those bad habits of mine that I know I should work on but realistically don't think I can, especially with sleep and RL in general getting in the way. Ah, well.

I know how you feel. I tend to feel really rushed to get a piece of work posted online, and due to that I sometimes cut corners on the quality. Lately I've been forcing myself to take my time on drawings. I work on them in bits and pieces, rather than all at once, and I try to take time to notice details I might have missed.
Nobody's perfect, and there's always room for improvement. Regardless, I always look forward to seeing more work from you.

You're both excused and encouraged.
And yesh, Michi is a widdle pengy 'mon 'cuz I wanted a shrimpy kid somewhere and Michiel fits perfectly for the job.
And I think you're right about Mitzi being all in favor of this, problem being, however, Michi himself. Darn kid, being such a...kid!

The colours are pretty and the setting is super cute, but those photoshop leaf brushes are the kind you see everywhere (same goes for the grass brushes you see a lot in Lion King fanarts). I know they're there to frame the actual image, but it would've been cooler if you had used a different leaf-shaped brush. It's very easy to make them yourself. =)
I hope you don't mind this bit of critique - it's just that I use custom made brushes so much I've started to pay special attention to them.
