well if you clip right down to the skin like you would a sheep it would be about a month before they had a good coat of fur... Because you left about 1/4 inch of coat and brushed that out she is bushy right now. Malamutes have two coats... the course outer guard hair and then the undercoat that is like a down... That's what I have been raking out and fluffing up on her.
When they are groomed they are like living plush toys... They also enjoy the added pets and cuddles.

I did not shave Tundra and did clip her heavy coat... Yes there coat is adapted for the cold but not for the heat. You get a mal in a hot are for any amount of time they shed their undercoat... Try running around in the hot summer sun in a fursuit and then tell me how cool your fursuit is...
