Months and months ago, I was working on a detailed sheet of turian anatomy. When my hard drive crashed, I lost the progress on that sheet.
This was the completed front view I had. I was working on a side and a rear view as well, but they were never completed.

I based the skeleton off of the Mass Effect 1 model of the final form of Saren that you fight.
There is a clear skeletal form that exists after most of Saren's outer skin and tissue are burned away, including a rib cage, arms, legs, feet and hand bones etc.
So that's what I used when constructing this anatomy.
It's based entirely off of the concept art, which I personally find to be rather limiting as far as movement and practicality go. I don't use this model when I draw turians. I just wanted to construct an anatomy reference based on the concept art so I could better create my own structures.
Also their exoskeleton is not their actual skeleton--it's simply very dense cartilage that covers their skeletal structure. They still have skin and plating--which is also cartiilage. They are avian based creatures, not insects.
