RPG Project - Main Theme/Title Screen Music
Here's another one I'm working on. It's the title screen music... it's a little like Persona 3, I think, in that it's pretty mellow and not too offensive. It might also be the theme I use for when the character dies...

Interesting. Very interesting.
I have to agree with Island. Might suit a love scene better, unless you have one of those title screen adorned with very soft images of peaceful settings. :3 Nice song, though. Very nice. ^-^
I also like the thumbnail image. Are those your own RM2k RTP edits or did they come from elsewhere? :o

What this guy said ;3
However, if your RPG is going to have a theme along those same lines, again like Lunar (I bring it up too much x3 ), it fits and can be easily used for the main theme as well as any scenes like that.
Piano is made of win, for the record. Good job on the piece :)

Thanks. Yeah, the original intent was for a very mellow title screen, one that was tranquil and calm, though I'm thinking it makes a fine love theme too. I dunno, I'm just writing this stuff for the heck of it - kind of backwards considering usually the music is written *after* the game is in production.
Thanks for listening!
Oh, and yeah, these are edits I made a long time ago - they weren't doing much, and I figgured they were as good as anything else for an icon.

I think this is more fitting for the titlle/theme, as you suggest, rather than a love scene. I think love music would need to be...I dunno...sappier, I guess. Something about this seems to suggest nostalgia, and evokes a feeling similar to the theme from FF X-2, even though they're very different. Something also seems a little like something from Chrono Trigger, but I can't place what.
Shining Force (I) also had a similar sort of music, although more...sedate? It wasn't the title screen, tho, it was afterwards, kindof the intro to the menus screen...I don't have a good name for it. The load game screen? Maybe that works. There was a little girl (with fuzzy ears, I think) reading from a book, and asking you to help. It was kindof silly, really, but it was the early 90s. You have to expect a bit of that.

Love the tune you got here, but... it's timed too quick and harsh for what you're intending it to be. Can you slow it down a little and add longer pauses, with slow fading sustain in some parts? It seems like it's rushed and hasty at the moment, somewhat.
Your melody is once again great, though. :)

I disagree, actually. I originally slowed it down, and it just sounded like it was dragging... I think it's the right tempo, personally. But, aye, I'll certainly consider your suggestion.
Some of the "harshness" might be coming from the soundfont I was using, but it was the best one I could find at the moment.
