Going to be working on a bunch of anthro work for my table at FurAffinity: United 5, starting with a new Basil of Baker Street sticker and print.
Who is Basil of Baker Street, you ask?
Check out Disney's, "The Great Mouse Detective", based of a series of childrens books, called, "Basil of Baker Street", by Eve Titus.
And yep, Basil does have a biggish head here. Going with a semi-SD look for all stickers ( that aren't ponies ) from here on out.
Finished colors!
India ink and brush on 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock.
Scanned into Photoshop CS3, imported into and painted in ArtRage Studio, using only the oil brush, touch ups in Photoshop CS3.
Category Artwork (Digital) / Fanart
Species Mouse
Size 600 x 947px
File Size 281.3 kB
Actually, neither did I! I only found out after doing research on Basil for image references, and of course, Google brought me to article on Wikipedia about The Great Mouse Detective.
But yeah, it's not a surprise that it's based off of a book. Even The Fox and the Hound was based off of book ( which I REALLY need to see if I can find in the Kindle Marketplace... the actual story sounds REALLY interesting! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fo.....nd_%28novel%29 ). It was written by Daniel P. Mannix in 1967.

Welp, it's like the kiddies in the anime fandom whom have never even heard of shows like Ranma 1/2, Grave of the Fireflies, or basically anything made before the year 2000. My inner fangirl cried when I was at AnimeNEXT back in June. I was talking to a kid / customer, about my favorite shows, and he had NO idea what Ranma 1/2 was, or even Galaxy Express 999. ;~;
The old Disney classics, it surprises me when I DO come across a fur who doesn't know about them. The Great Mouse Detective, Fox and the Hound, Robin Hood ( the fox ), The Aristocats, even the Black Cauldron ( I ADORE Gurgie! ). Even worse when they try to claim that Don Bluth's films, after he had left Disney, are really Disney films. Sorry, but Anastasia, The Secret of NYMH, a Troll in Central Park, and Thumbelina are nooooot Disney owned in any way, shape, or form.
